Hygiene Visits or "Cleanings"
- Numbness from anesthetic may last approximately 2-4 hours, if
anesthetic was used.
- Teeth and gums may be sensitive for a few days after the procedure.
Brushing with a fluoridated toothpaste and not rinsing your mouth
afterward will help diminish the sensitivity.
- Gums may bleed when brushing or flossing for the first week.
- Thorough brushing and flossing will toughen the gum tissue and
decrease the bleeding and inflammation.
- A Rota-dent powered brush and/or oral irrigator ( i.e. Waterpik)
is a good way to keep these areas clean, if used properly.
- Scaling or root planing may be required at every recare visit.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call. |
